Samuel Barnard Jr. was born at Watertown, Massachusetts on March 25, 1664, son of John and Sarah (?Cutting [1] vs Fleming) [2] Barnard.
Samuel married Mercy Sherman at Watertown on April 4, 1700. [1] Mercy Sherman was the daughter of John Sherman and his second wife Mary Launce. She was likely their youngest child born in the 1660's. [2]
1712: December 4: Her brother James Sherman, as surviving executor of their father's estate listed the legacies paid according to John's will, including Mercy Barnard, wife of Samuel Barnard, L20. [2]
1712: December 26: Samuel Barnard of Watertown, husband of John Sherman's daughter Mercy, objected to the accounting by James Sherman, indicating that James had not had the full authority to sell his father's lands, and that Mercy had not received her full L20 share. [2]
Mercy and Samuel were still living in February, 1728/9. [2]
[Note: More children may have been baptized at the church in Watertown]
