Frank was born in 1899. [1] Son of Edmund Barnard and Margaret Emma Hill (m. 20 Feb 1892)

On 2 April 1911 the Barnard family lived at 30 Lambert St, Southend On Sea, Essex. Edmund Barnard (43) House Painter, wife Emma Barnard (40) with children Frank Barnard (12), Ethel Barnard (10), Edith Barnard (7), May Barnard (5) and Doris Barnard (2). [2]

In April 1915, Frank Barnard, aged 18, enlisted with the British Army and first served with the Royal Field Artillery Regiment, Regimental Number 98333 and was transferred on 26 December 1915, serving as a Private with the 5th Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment, Regimental Number 19152. He first served in France on 26 December 1915. Comments: Formerly 98333, R.F.A [3] [4] [5] [6]

He passed away in 1917 at the 5th Casualty Clearance Station, France from General Septicemia. [7] and was buried at the Tincourt New British Cemetery. [8] [9]
