Dwain Arthur Barnard, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro, Texas.

Dwain was born February 20, 1922 in Mertens, the son of John Thomas and Florence Christine Brewer Barnard. He graduated from Delia High School in Limestone County, where he played basketball. Dwain worked on the farm with his father. After graduating from high school Dwain entered the Army. After returning from the war, he married Neta Bell McCraw in Milford and lived on a farm near Merterns. He also farmed in Pairie Hill.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Lloyd Barnard; sister Martha Killough.
