Nancy J. Barner was born on July 17, 1872 in Brunswick, Virginia, the daughter of John. She married Robert John Walker on November 20, 1897 in Brunswick, Virginia. On their marriage certificate, it states that Naunie was the daughter of James Barner and Clarisy. They had 10 children. She died on February 13, 1942, in her hometown at the age of 69.
