I wish to thank Hugh Barnes for his help, we are trying to get this family entered correctly. Family Search and Find A Grave show Elijah Father as Jehu Edgar Barnes. The Find A Grave is following the Haddock family by Leona Headley.

She is convinced Elijah is the son of Jehu Edgar, but I do not see the connection for certain. Wikitree Shows Jehu has a daughter born within months of Elijah's birth of 6 Aug 1852.

The Tombstone shows birth year 1852, 1870 census shows Est year 1853-1854. All Census 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920, show ages that match being born in 1854. Elijah was married by 1880 to Martha Bell Haddock, and on all other census and all the children list are the family of my great-grandfather Elijah Barnes. I personally knew Uncle Otis and Uncle Ernest.
