I have been doing Genealogy since 2007 and I come from the Barnes Family of Haywood County NC and I also Have Sevier County TN Heritage as well too. I have tested at Ancestry and My father and my sister has tested at Ancestry as well too and we all are on FTDNA and Gedmatch as well too.

I received copies of my 4th Great Grandmother Mariah Barnes's Bastardy Bonds in March 2017 and I have discovered that it named 2 men on her Bastardy Bonds and then I had my father Y- DNA tested recently and we have discovered that Henry Harvey Barnes 's father was indeed Daniel P. Monroe and I am happy to share the copies of the bastardy bonds I have with you if you request to see them.

This is my main goal which is to break the brickwall of Joseph Barnes of North Carolina who appears in Haywood County NC in the Census of 1830 and figure where he was prior to that and also find what year he died. It has to be after 1830. He was alive in October 1831 as well too.

I also want to find who My Great Grandfather William A. Barnes 's Mother was. The family story is that He was born in Newport TN and that he possibly was born out of wedlock or His mother died at childbirth and His father brought him back to Madison County NC with him.

Hi Lauren,

Just a heads up that in a few weeks we will resume sourcing Brinsley Barnes-1145's children in the G2G forum per PaulaJ's instructions. You will get notices since you have added Barnes-1145 as a tag.

Thanks,

Hugh

Hi Lauren,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like Mayflower would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Your existing Mayflower tag will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Welcome! We are glad you are here!  Please let Kitty Smith know if you are interested in joining our DNA Project or our FTDNA Project.

If you have not done so, set your Followed preferences to include DNA.

It's not hard to add DNA test information to profiles on WikiTree, just make sure you add the tests to the actual test participant's profile & set the Privacy to ‘private w/ public biography & family tree’ to show the tester's part of our tree. For help see  How to DNA on WikiTree

We also encourage you to join our Google+ Community for DNA discussions, questions & new information.

Lauren,

You are pioneering. Mick says https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bohannon-504

is not relate to us. If you can prove he is in your line, you have now pulled in the Barnes of White & Putnam, TN into our line. Get me a tree asap. We need to get it to Dr. Sam Barnes.

Hi Lauren,

I am also searching for an illusive William Hayes! The father of my Great Grandfather, John Hayes. I also have uploaded to Gedmatch. I ran your numbers with mine and my siblings this morning. I have 2 siblings that have 2 shared chromosomes with MBarnes and also one shared chromosome with CBarnes. Sandra #A966879, Susan #838960. Of course we have a couple other names that may be in common also, but hey, it's all good. Maybe we should check this out a little more.

Hello Cousin Lauren,

You require no help. Your research skills equal two Ph.D.s and a DAR State Registrar. All this and under the age of thirty-five. You canl make a strong contribution and you may burst your brick wall.
