Mary Polly Barnes, named for her mother, was born to Barnes-5278 and Means-878 in March of 1800. She married William M. Ray on February 29, 1816.[1] Polly and William farmed in the Southern District of Rockingham County, North Carolina, together with their five children. In 1860, four of the children were still living at the farm.[2] By 1870, only Millie was still living at home; Millie eventually married a Mr. Denton but was still living at home in 1880.[3][4]
No record was found of Polly's death or burial.
