Searching for Ancestors of Malinda Barnes. Malinda Barnes' father was John Barnes and her mother's name was Betty. Some of her siblings were: brother's - Levi, Joe, Newton; sisters -Alfie and Delsie. They were reported to have lived in Union and Fannin Counties of Georgia. Her husband's (Thomas Martin Raper) obit indicated his wife had been Malinda Barnes of Hemptown Georgia. Hemptown is in Fannin County in the Mineral Bluff/Morganton area. In the 1850 Union County Census, a Barnes family is listed as Martha-40, Eliza-14, Nancy-11, Mary-8, and John-5. This indicates Nancy was born approximately 1839. Is it possible that this is the same John Barnes and Nancy Barnes. This would suggest that Elijah was John's father and he must of Died before the 1950 Census. Any thoughts?
