Welcome to Wikitree. There are 165 people collaborating on various branches of the Barnes family. If I can be of assistance, please contact me. If you trace your roots to my Irish immigrant, Brinsley (1713-1794) [Barnes-1145] or Solomon [Barnes-368] also an ancestor, by all means letss connect. I operate a website devoted to Brinsley and Solomon Sr. (1751-1807) both of whom migrated to what became Wilkes County, NC in 1777. Solomon arrived in what was then Rowan County in about 1771. Brinsley arrived in Wilkes about 1784. At the time this was Indian Territory. Solomons roots are English, and he descends from James and Keturah Shipley Barnes. The website also discusses their descendants who migrated to Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri. Brinsleys Irish family has been in America since 1734. The two families have seven Revolutionary War Patriots, one served under Washington at Valley Forge.
