Jane Barnes was baptised on 19 December 1808 in Coldwaltham, Sussex. Her parents were John and Elizabeth Barnes.[1]Jane had a twin sister Sarah[2]
Early Years
As well as her twin sister Sarah, Jane also had older sisters Mary (baptised 1804), Ann (baptised 1801) and Rhode (baptised 1789) and older brothers John (baptised 1799), William (baptised 1798) and twins John and James (baptised 1791)[3]
Marriage and Children
William Barnet married Jane Barnes in Coldwaltham, Sussex on 23 October 1829. [4]
They had seven children together:
In 1841 Jane and William were living in Quick Building , Coldwaltham with their children William aged 10, Rhoda aged 8, Sarah aged 6, Fanny aged 4 and Maryann aged 1. William was an agricultural labourer.[5]
Death
Jane Barnett of Watersfield died, aged 44, in 1850 in the registration district of Thakeham, Sussex [6]
and was buried in Coldwaltham, St Giles on 18th June that year. [7]
