BARNES— TONGES WEDDING
WHITE mauve and pink flowers will decorate the West End Methodist Church tonight for the wedding of Mr. lvon Dudley Barnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. J Barnes, to Miss Thelma Agnes Tonges only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Tonges, Exeter Street, West End.
Rev. T. Dent will officiate. To be given away by her father, the bride will wear Satin cloque cut on classical lines. She will carry a bouquet of arum lilies and will wear a veil of bridal tulle. Misses B. Cameron and D. Dearlove, the bridesmaids, will be frocked in mauve taffetas. They will add pink silk net veils and carry pink carnations and pink roses. Mr. C. W. Tonges will be best man and Mr. R. Barnes will be the groomsman.
The reception will be West End School of Arts. Navy cloque patterned in a self design finished by a red spray of flowers will be featured by Mrs. Tonges (mother of the bride). She will add a navy hat and a bouquet of red roses.
Valley blue mariette to which she will add a navy hat and a bouquet of nasturtiums will be featured by Mrs. Barnes (mother of the bridegroom).
The honeymoon will be spent at Southport. For her travelling frock the bride will wear clover pink crepe with white accessories.[5]
In 1942, Ivon enlisted in the Australian Army for World War Two.
