Alfred Smith “The General” Barnes, son of Eli Barnes and Susan (Morris) (Bradley) Barnes, was born on 28 Jan. 1817 at New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut.[1]
He married Harriet Elizabeth Burr in 1841.[1]
Alfred died on 17 Feb. 1888 at Brooklyn, Kings County (Brooklyn), New York and was buried at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings County (Brooklyn), New York. His memorial has photos and an extensive biography.[1]
