This is my third and final appeal to you. I have been directed by Paula J to get a Barnes One Name Study in place so that I can get the PPP Barnes-1145 update. She, Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus have directed that you and I merge the two Studies. I HAVE NO INTEREST IN BEING INVOLVED IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE STUDY. My only interest is sourcing Barnes-1145, and as a PPP a One Name Study is needed for that task. I for one would like to remain under the radar of three very high ranking Wikitree leaders. Doug Lockwood [Lockwood-1016],Rank # 1, Paula J [J-276] Rank-68, Alison Andrus [Andrus-373] Rank #157, Alvin Barnes [Barnes-5725] Rank # 3,768. You and I are pretty far down on the totem pole and do not need the negative publicity. Read the Wikitree rules concerning One Name Studies: "The purpose of this project is to provide you with a potentially valuable resource that will help you coordinate with other WikiTree members who are researching the same surname and providing a space for collaboration." Note that says Surname NOT LINE WITHIN A SURNAME. If you are still not convinced re-read https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:One_Name_Studies. Please lets you and I resolve this at our level rather than bumping it on up. Once this is done, I want NOTHING TO DO WITH MANAGING THE STUDY.

I agree. Our branches are VERY DIFFERENT. The purpose of a one name study is not to isolate one branch but provide a place where although being different a common surname ties us together. This is discussed generically at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:One_Name_Studies. The best example of this is the Teague Study at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Teague_Name_Study. Note in that study is 6.3.1. I would add only Brinsley (Barnes-1145) who is a PPP to the group all other areas except AT YOUR DISCRETION my adding some information on the Irish. Doing any of this was not my idea. but Paula J an important Wikitree leader at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/J-276 and Doug Loclhart. I have put into play all that is required for a merge of the two Name Studies. I have planned that mine be merged away into yours but to do that am instructed and I quote: " you are not in the Trusted List of Space:Barnes Name Study and therefore do not have permission to merge. Please request access from that profile page." You have to place me on the trusted list. Staying on it is your call. I will be needing to post to it to handle theBarnes-1145 revisions which will be done on G2G. There is another area that needs to be addressed.

I do have aother request many early Irishmen used the spelling Barns NO e.

s, there is already a Barnes Name Study. Since there were so many profiles listed on the category page, it got lost in the list. You can also find it in the second list of one name studies on the main ONS index page on the second list for space pages. Since you created another one, you will want to work with Alvin Barnes and merge the two space pages together using the form found here. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will be happy to answer them! ;-)

We need your help. Paula J has been giving me guidance in getting ready to do some serious updating to the PPP Barnes-1145. She recommended since she could not find one that we set up a One Name Study. I had remembered that Mary Nance [Nance-269] had done some category work long ago but went ahead with setting on up and found a duplicate study. I messaged Mary, and she advised that she had done work under https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Barnes_Name_Study. Mary confirmed that she had done some work. We are seeking your advice to resolve this. On the surface, it appears that the one at left is a category only and the one below is a project.

Alvin, you posted to my profile: "You edited date for John Alger; can you supply source of info?" Which John Alger? Chances are his profile showed up on the db_errors report as having empty birth and death fields. If I added a date, I estimated it based on other data on his or his relations' profiles. In any case, we are trying to fix profiles that have empty date fields. We need either an estimated birth or estimated death, at minimum. Anything you can do to assist in this effort is much appreciated. Thanks.

And why are you sending me a statement telling me you are not relate to my line? Did I ask a question I don't know about?

OK, now I am really confused. I am doing some more research for Elizabeth Bruce and I have found a Birth Record for her in Westborough, MA where she was born on November 4, 1721. But I also found a Baptism Record for her in Marlborough, MA but she was baptized on June 18, 1721, so how could she have been baptized before she was born and both records have Abijah Bruce down as her Father. So which record is correct? Or is there more than one Elizabeth Bruce? I have also found sources for both marriages.

I have been looking into both my 6th Great Grandparents Jonathan & Elizabeth (Bruce) Sherman and Richard & Elizabeth (Bruce) Barnes and I have found the marriage record for both of them. So maybe my Elizabeth Bruce is a different one from the one that married Richard Barnes.
