Esther Barnes King, 104, of Shiloh, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 1994, at Jasper County Hospital, Bay Springs.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Shiloh Baptist Church near Collins with burial in Shiloh Cemetery. The Revs. Rester, Vem Holifield, and Billy Bum will officiate.
She was an avid gardener until her 101 birthday, and a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was the last survivor of the 14 siblings of Mr. and Mrs. Bash Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Meddie King, and her son Billy King.
She is survived by a son, Sam King of Louin; a daughter, Eula Mae Dyar of Mendenhall; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Terry King, Ricky Bratches, Eric McCormick, Ray Pugh, Jack Flynt, Emmett Harvey, Gene Bassett, and Tommy Kean.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. today at Johns Funeral Home in Collins, which is in charge of the arrangements.[2]
