Biography

Delton was born on March 25, 1922, in rural Lauderdale County, Alabama. He was the second son of Audie Barnett and Minnie Fields.

He was raised in the Lexington, Alabama, area, where his father worked as a farmer.[1][2]

Delton married Idell Parker on November 25, 1941, in Lauderdale County, Alabama.[3] Together, they had four children. Their marriage later ended in divorce.

Delton was registered in the World War II United States draft on June 30, 1942. He was an employee of Reynolds Metal Company at Lester Hill, Alabama. He was living at 401 Jersey Avenue in Florence, Alabama, having no phone at the time. Delton was described as being 5'11 and 173 lbs, with a light complexion, blonde hair, and blue eyes.[4]

Delton moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and married Etta Lou Hammon on March 25, 1965, in Roane County, Tennessee. He was employed in the sales business at the time. Etta, meanwhile, lived in Spring City, Tennessee, and was employed as an accountant. The marriage also ended in a divorce.
