Roseanna was born about 1818 in County Londonderry, Ireland. She was the daughter of James Barnett of Bovevagh, and her mother's maiden name was possibly Irons.
She married Robert Allison, a farmer, and they lived at Drumrane just south-west of Limavady, county Londonderry. Six sons and an unmarried daughter are mentioned in her husband's will, but they may have had other daughters who married and did not need to be provided for.
She passed away at the age of 80 in 1898 (cerebral haemorrhage) at her son John's farm in Drumrane.
