Abbrev: Shuey, Donna Skinner Title: Shuey, Donna Skinner (dksky@insightbb.com) Text: Headstone transcription: William Skinner 10 Feb 1774 - 21 May 1856 William Skinners' name first appeared in the Kentucky record book in Harrison County, KY in the year 1804. At this time he purchased 100 acres of land from William Jewett in Raven Creek area. (Deed Book 1 Page 814). In 1817 he bought another 100 acres of land also from William Jewett. Then in 1830 a deed was made where William Skinner and wife Milly then from the county of Decatur in the state of Indiana had sold both tracts of land in Harrison County, KY to a man from Jennings County, Indiana by the name of John Fear. William and Milly bought land in Decatur County, Indiana on September 16, 1830 from Thomas Hanna Sr. He purchased eighty acres of land in the district of Brookville for two hundred dollars. This was found in Deed Book B, page 500. In August 1854 William and Milly sold their land to George W. Sidener for the amount of $3,000.00 (Deed Book V Page 397). William and Milly then traveled north to Clinton County, Indiana and bought land in Michigan Township (east edge of Clinton County). They spent their last days here and were buried in Layton Cemetery.
