James Barnett was born 14 December 1813 in Mason County, Virginia, to William Barnett and Mary McGuire. On 1 January 1846, he was married to Rebecca Ann Oldaker in Mason County, Virginia, by William H. Harrison.[1]
He died 31 August 1895 in Mason County, West Virginia.[2] He was buried in the Barnett Cemetery on Three Mile Creek in Mason County, West Virginia.[3]
