Biography

Jessie B. Barnett was born 26 May 1953. [1] His parents were Joseph D. and Charity Barnett. [2]

In 1860, Jesse B, 5, was living in Hardin, KY with his parents, Joseph D, 48, and Martha A, 42. Also in the household were Wm J, 18, Mary T, 16, Tabitha, 14, Joseph D, 9, and Charity C, 6. He was born in KY. [2]

In 1870, Jesse, 15, was living in Big Springs, Hardin, KY with his parents, Joseph B, 59, and Martha A, 51. Also in the household were Tabitha, 23, Joseph, 19, Theodore B. Graham, 34, Martha Graham, 30, Hugh Graham, 9, Earnest Graham, 2, and Mary, 27. There was also a domestic servant named Susan Medley. Jesse was a farm laborer. [3]

In 1880, Jesse B, 25, was living in Bewleyville, Breckinridgge, KY with his wife, Eliza E, 27 and son, Joseph W, 7 mo. He was a farmer. [4]

On the death certificate for his son, Herman Moore Barnett, it shows Jesse’s wife as Eliza Ellen Morman. It also places Jesse in MO. [5]

On the marriage record for Jesse’s son, Charles M, it shows Charle’s mother was Wiley Mooman in 1886. [6]

Jessie B. Barnett was buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax, Atchison, MO. He shares a double tombstone with his wife, Wiley Barnett. Her dates are Jul 15, 1853-Apr 12, 1892. His dates are May 26, 1855-Apr 20, 1892. [1]
