Biography

Delana was born in 1831 and died on 2/5/1913 at the age of 83. She is buried at Newport Cem, in Newport Herkimer, NY.

Attached to the death record, ending in QVG6-2MQW is the following note: Added from Newport Historical Center file cards. No gravestone was found.

The 1875 New York State Census says that Albert O. Roots wife was named Olive and that he was 45 and she 44. Also living with them was Olive's father Henry Barney, 78. The name Olive must be an error.

During the 1880 U.S. Census, Delana and Albert Root were living in Manheim, Herkimer, NY.

During the 1900 U.S. Census, Delana was age 69 and was married to Albert Orlando Root for 47 years.
