One thing that I remember about Grandma Belongia is that she was a very independant woman. She would hitch hike all over the place, & was never afraid to ask someone to use their restroom or their telephone. One year we went to view the floats from the Rose Parade. She was like a little kid oohing & aahhing over all the floats.
