In 1880, the Barnhart family lived in Olive Meigs, Ohio. The household included Harris (Asa Harrison) Barnhart, 45, a widow, a cooper by trade, whose parents were born in Ohio, as was he. Harris could not write; his eight children, all born in Ohio, Henry, 20, a cooper; Sarah, 18; Jennie, 15, in school; Albert, 13, in school; Dora, 10, in school; Edward, 6, in school; Bircha, 4; and Thomas, an infant. NOTE: Harrison’s wife Mary Ann (Congrove) died in 1880, before this Census was taken. She died about three months after her last child, Thomas, was born. Living nearby was the George Warren Congrove family. George was first cousin to Mary Ann Congrove. [2]
Albert suffered from mitral stenosis for a year. He was married, and a merchant, 42 years old, when he died on 24 July 1909 in Green, Harrison, Ohio. [4]
