On 21 October 1818, three days after his twenty-third birthday, he married Elizabeth Naff in Fraklin County.[8] She bore hm eight known children, five sons and three daughters:
On 12 May 1872, when he was seventy-six, Abraham died of unknown causes in Franklin County. He is buried in the Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Franklin County, Virginia. [9]
