Jean was born about 1784, it has not yet been determined if he was born in Québec or in France.
He is the son Mathieu Baron and Anne Durand from the state of Avignon.
He married Marie Suzanne Poire, daughter of Joseph Poire and Marie Françoise Dussault, on January 9, 1811 at Notre-Dame-de-Québec.[1]
