Like her sisters Evangeline, or Eva as she was apparantly known, remained unmarried. Born 26 January 1881 at Leeston, Eva was probably named after Ophelia's older sister Evangeline, also known as Eva, who married George's brother - William Brewer BARRELL. Margaret SCOTT remembers her as a "rather dour person and very old maidish in appearance". She doesn't appear to have ever left the family home or worked. She and her mother moved from Durham Street to 107 Merivale Lane in the latter part of their life. Eva died 29 October 1969 aged 88. Margaret SCOTT remembers the three girls - Lucy, Kate and Eva as a "unit". They accompanied Ophelia wherever she went around the city and "were always a step or two behind her".
