George Nunn Barrett was born in 1811 in Dengie, Essex, England, his father, Richard, was 39 and his mother, Anne, was 29. He married Charlotte Bollin on December 17, 1853, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. They had five children in 28 years, however, Mary Ann and Olive were born before his marriage recorded in Australia, and some Charlotte's children by her prior husband appear to be born after her marriage to George Nunn Barrett. He died on October 21, 1880, in Bungaree, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 69.
