In his will written 10 February 1792 (proved 6 November 1792), David Barrett expresses that his wife Abigail and Phebe Spaulding are to be supported in sickness and in health. Well-beloved son David Barrett receives six shillings as he has already received his portion of the estate. Daughter Abigail Bearse receives one-half of the indoor movables except wearing apparel and one cow. Daughter Ziporah Spaulding receives the other half of the indoor estate. Son Lemuel Barrett receives the great bible and the large dog irons in the kitchen fireplace. The library is to be divided among his three sons and two daughters. Granddaughter Sarah Fuller receives twenty shillings at her marriage. Sons Lemuel and Moses receive the livestock, farming tools, and carpenter tools. Lemuel Barrett is named sole executor. He adds a postscript that the bequest given to daughter Ziporah Spaulding is to go to Willard Fuller her adopted son who is heir of Willard Spalding. The estate was valued at £201.13.9, £121 being the value of the stock animals.[3]
