Biography

Find A Grave lists Joseph's marriage date with Lillian Helena Wooliever as 17Jan1894 and also lists names for their various children. Highland Memory Gardens, Lake Charles, Calcasieu, LA. Memorial ID 23544782 [1]

Research Notes

1910 US Census has given name as Jno while all other records including the gravestone have given name Joseph. Jno is typically an abbreviation for John. Also lists father as born in USA, mother born in New York, USA.

1940 US Census lists Joseph as married, but if true, his wife is not listed among people in the household.

Find a Grave record has a biography that lists Joseph's parents as Converse Barrett and Betsey Adeline Arnold.

Upon adoption of this profile, Joseph's parents were Converse Barrett and Bessie Mae Medberry. Per the 1870 US Census cited in Converse's profile, his wife was born in New York while Medberry-1 is listed as born in England. I've since disconnected Medberry-1 from Converse and Joseph.

There's a photo on Ancestry tagged as Joseph Barrett and his great grand daughter. Need to figure out how to connect the Plumb family in to the tree if not already done.

Need to add a profile for another child per list at Find a Grave. Charles Henry Barrett.

Per 1880 US Census, Joseph , 2 brothers (Chauncey and Anthony) and their mother are living with a cousin named Burt Dayharsh. Joseph's mother Bessie is listed as widowed.

Per 01Mar1885 Kansas State Census Collection, Joseph and his brother Anthony and their mother are living with A. Delbert Daharsh. This is likely the same head-of-household relative with whom they were living in 1880, and the name has just been poorly recorded/transcribed.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:
