Jonas was born in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, on 24 September 1737.[1]
He married, first, Mary Fletcher, who bore him five daughters and two sons.[2][3] Their children were:

His second marriage was to Urania Lock on February 8, 1781, in Ashby.[4] She bore him nine children.
