Biography

Lydia Oakes Barrette was born in 1853-4 in Thibodaux, Lafourche, Louisiana.^[1] She was the daughter of John Dunsworth Barrette and Margaret Maybanks Barrette.

She married James Stewart on April 18, 1883 in Scott County, Iowa.^[2] The couple had three children.

Lydia died on December 13, 1937 in Corona, Riverside County, California. She is buried in the Oakdale Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa.^[3]
