Biography

Flag of County Durham (adopted 2013)
George Barron was born in County Durham, England.

George was born in 1821 at Sedgefield, Durham. His parents were Lancelot Barron and Elizabeth Rawling. He was christened on 7 October 1821 at Sedgefield, Durham.[1]

George married Betsey Wherrit about 1847 at Stockton-On-Tees, Durham.[2]

George married Sarah Nicholson on 9 October 1854 at Leeds, St Peter, Yorkshire. Witnessed by William and Isabella Lamb. Isabella is Georges's wife's sister.[3]

He was later listed as a Master Builder and reputedly left a "tidy sum" when he died. Not proved by his will which said £106-18s left to his widow Sarah and daughter Mary Elizabeth. Presumably he disposed of his estate prior to his death as Mary Elizabeth died very wealthy owning many properties. See her page.[4]

George passed away on 4 October 1890 at Melrose House, Linthorpe near Middlesbrough.[5]

Barron-236 and Barron-119 appear to represent the same person because: Same DOB, same parents, same siblings. Thanks!
