This same property was mentioned in the 1797 will of James Smith in Wilkes County to be given to his son, John, and daughter, Patty Barron. The 1801 returns for the James Smith estate list money paid to William Barron, for his wife's legacy.
John (see above), followed William's family to Hancock, then Putnam Counties, GA, in the early 1800s.
