William Edward Gilbert and his wife, Frances Gerrard Barron Gilbert, started to Texas in 1876 and while en route, Mr. Gilbert died. Mrs. Gilbert and eight children came on alone to Palo Pinto, reaching here the same year. She died in Palo Pinto in 1907.
