In the 1841 England and Wales Census John Barren 33 born about 1804-1808, was head of his household in Slades, Lanchester, Durham, England, United Kingdom.Other Household members were his wife Hannah Barren 33 Durham, and their children Miles Barren 6, Michael Barren 5, Joseph Barren 3 Durham, and his ?brother William Barren 36. [2]
In the 1851 England Census John Barron 44 born abt 1807 in Bywell, Northamptonshire, England, coal miner, was head of his household in Slades House, Ebchester, Durham. Other Household Members were his wife Hannah Barron 44 Stanhope, Durham, and their children Miles Barron 16, and Michael Barron 15 both born Bywell, railway labourers, M H Barron 7 Ebchester, Durham, and Joseph Barron 13 Ebchester, lime burner agent. A visitor was Mary Barron 77 Bywell, widow, annuitant. [3]
He married Elizabeth Tilley in 1858.[4] In 1871 he and Elizabeth lived in Chester-le-Street with their five children. [5]In 1891, he worked as a butcher and lived with all of his adult children except Thomas in Tanfield, Lanchester, Durham. A five-year-old grandson lived with the family as well. [6]
