Probate
The will of Elisha Barrow of Rochester, gentleman was dated 22 September 1767 and proved on 7 December 1767 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Nelle, and his children, Elisha Barrow, Patience Bailey, Deliverance Ruggles, Lidia Barrow, and Huldah Barrow. His wife Nelle and his neighbor, Seth Dexter were to be executors. His inventory mentions he is an innholder, and was taken on 1 December 1767 in Rochester.[4]
In 1770, an account of his estate by his widow Nelle and Seth Dexter was recorded which included debts received, legacies paid, debts paid, funeral charges, gravestones, and administration fees.[5]
In 1787, his widow Nellie, now wife of William Bassett of Rochester received her dower.[6]
