Biography

Lydia Barrows was born 1699 in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Lydia married Thomas Branch.

in 1745, Lydia was granted the guardianship of her minor children, Thankful, Experience, and John.[1]

In October 1749, Lydia is mentioned in her son, John Branch's estate distribution.[2]

She died sometime before 17 Nov 1752.

Probate

Lydia died intestate and on 17 November 1752, Nathaniel Shurtleff was granted the administration of her estate.[3]

Her inventory was taken on 29 November 1752 in Plymouth. An account of her estate was recorded.[4]

In 1753, her administrator Nathaniel Shurtleff presented an account of her estate.[5]

In 1753, her estate was divided between her daughters, Lydia Shurtleff, wife of Nathaniel Shurtleff, Mary Churchell, wife of Ebenezer Churchell, the heirs of Thankful Howard (only child, Thomas Howard), and Experience Sherman, wife of Samuel Sherman.[6]

Barrow-1195 and Barrows-156 appear to represent the same person because: The name is commonly spelled various ways. Barrows-156 is sourced and the other was unsourced and abandoned. Birth dates match and 1195 could be assumed to be same person.
