Biography

James Barry Jr. was born September 9, 1864 in Buffalo County, Nebraska. He was the son of James Barry and Mary Morgan. He had three brothers and three sisters. James met and married Maggie E. Volk, 16 Feb 1892 in Cosgrove, Johnson Co., Iowa.

James and his family mostly resided in Oxford, Johnson County, Iowa. Mr Barry was elected as president of the First Trust and Savings Bank of Oxford in April 1931 and served in that position for several years.

James Barry passed away March 5, 1943, in Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 78, and was buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Oxford, Iowa.^[1]
