Biography

Elizabeth (Carver) Randall immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Elizabeth Carver, and her twin sister Susanna, were baptized at Filby, Norfolk, England on October 15, 1618, daughter of Richard and Margaret (Skurrie) Carver. Her mother Margaret was buried in November, 1618, shortly after their births.[1]

Elizabeth traveled to New England with her father Richard and his then wife Grace (Walker), and twin sister Susanna.[1] They registered for passage from Ipswich England on the John and Dorethey, master William Andrewes in April 11, 1637, as follows:

Richard Carvear, of Skratby, c. Suffolk, husbandman aged 60 years
Grace, his wife, aged 40 years
Elizabeth, aged 18 years
Susanna, aged 18 years, being twins[2]

They settled at Watertown, Massachusetts. Richard Carver's will, written December 18, 1638 and proved September 9, 1641, names his wife Grace and daughters Susanna and Elizabeth Carver.[1]

Elizabeth married William Randall c1640 in Scituate, Plymouth Colony, New England,[1] son of Simon Randall and Jane Stephens.[3][4]

Elizabeth's step-mother, Grace (Walker) Carver, remarried in New England to Micheal Barstow,[1] and in his will of June, 1674, Michael Barstow left bequests to Elizabeth, wife of William Randall, and Susan, wife of William Perry.[5]
