Joe Barta, a well-known and popular farmer of this vicinity--brother of John Barta, the merchant of this city--died at the family residence near Weimar last Tuesday morning after a two weeks’ illness of inflammation of the stomach. Mr. Barta was 37 years of age, a quiet, steady man, the possessor of a large circle of friends, and his death is deeply regretted. His remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows’ cemetery Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, the funeral being largely attended. Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy is extended the bereaved family.
