Son of Arthur and Leila Barteaux, he was a Nova Scotia farmer before the war, married to Iva Muriel Fisk.[1] He signed up for overseas service on 17 Apr 1915. He was a Veterinary Sergeant with the Canadian Army Veterinary Corps attached to the 20th Battery, 5th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery in France. He demobilised 3 Jun 1919.[2] He died in 1970.[3]
