Biography

Denzil is shown as the adopted son of the parents with whom he shares a name at another free shared family tree site (you've probably cracked my super coded message there) . There was no evidence, no explanation, so I went to look for some. I only found a "Birth Ledger" with the baby named Denzil A Evans, born the same day and in the same place and (this is sad, but hopefully worked out very well for this gentleman who was the baby) only one parent listed:

Meanwhile, a note at Mr Barth's Memorial at Find A Grave says that (this is feeling like gossip or not my business... but it was very confusing and I think this is sorted) Densel Evans and his wife Winnie née Hanks - the sister of Elizabeth née Hanks Barth - are the biological parents of little Denzil. Winnie passed away, and Denzil was adopted by the Barths. What a difficult and beautiful thing Mr Evans did... I almost got through a whole day of Genealogy without tears.

If this is all completely incorrect, and I somehow put the pieces in the wrong places, please let me know. Denzil has no parents listed here though, and this is what I found, the Nebraska Birth Ledger is at Ancestry, which is why it is pasted in above, it can be found here: [[1]] and the note at Find A Grave is here, albeit with no sources cited: [[2]]

I also came across a very cute article in the local paper of Denzil's Bride about their nuptials. Why don't marriage announcements today talk about "the bride is very popular with the young set here in Our Town..."? It's so charming, swoon.
