Walter Bartlett, John Sturchler Bartlett, [private son (1930s - unknown)], [private daughter (1930s - unknown)] and [private daughter (1930s - unknown)]
Franklin was the oldest of four children of Wilson and Sophia Pickler Bartlett.[1] His father had three older children with his first wife who had died.[2] Franklin was named for his maternal grandfather and his father. He grew up in Chamberlain, South Dakota where his father was a merchant.[3][4] At age 19, when he registered for the draft during World War I, Frank was working in a wholesale grocery business.[5]
Franklin was a chiropractor for over 67 years,[6] most of the time in Chamberlain, except for a few years in Kimball, South Dakota.[7] He married Audree Sturchler when he was 31 years old. They were the parents of five children.[8]
Franklin died in Chamberlain at the age of 96.[9]He is buried in Riverview Cemetery, Chamberlain.[10]
Research Notes
On a family tree prepared by Franklin's son John, his middle name is identified as "Wilson," his father's given name.[11] On his World War I draft registration, he signed his name as Frank Wallace Bartlett.[12]
