Biography

This profile is part of the Bartlett Name Study.

Isaiah (also spelled many other ways including Ezaya), was the son of John and Martha Bartlett and was born 13 June 1641^[1].

He married Abiah Gillette in 1663.^[2] They had two children, John and Isaiah. Jr. Isaiah died in 1665.

Abiah/Abia Bartlett, Isaiah's widow married John Slater/Slaughter in 1669. Isaiah's name is shown as both Elisha Bartlett and Eyaya Bartlett, in her marriage record. Windsor Vital Records also lists a death of "__esay" which says he died in 1666. The Vital records also show "Esaih" Bartlett died July 13, 1665.^[3]

Errors to avoid

He is shown in many unsourced family trees with a death date of 21 Nov 1716, in Simsbury, Hartford, Connecticut, however that information is incorrect based on his widow's remarriage in 1669.
