Johnnie Lawrence was born in 1891. He was the son of James Bartlett and Fannie Bohannon. Lawrence enlisted in the regular army in 1917 and died there while training (306th Ammunition Train, 81st Division) in 1918. He was buried at Dry Valley Cemetery, Monterey, Putnam County, Tennessee.[1]
