Orville Orion Bartlett was born on August 6, 1873 in Vermillion, Kansas to Charles N. and Myla Malinda (Mitchell) Bartlett. He served in the military during the Spanish American War. He married Ruth Eloise Jones on April 6, 1901 in Post Falls, Idaho. They were the parents of Blanche (1903–1904), Ralph Perry (1906-1979), Horace Thomas (1909–1987), and an unnamed male born in 1912. He died on April 30, 1925 in Roseville, California at the age of 51 and was buried in Roseville Public Cemetery District in Roseville, California.
