Census analysis: 1850 U.S. Census, Maine, Bangor; both born New Hampshire; Jacob Garland, 62, cooper; Hannah, 60. 1860 U.S. Census, same location; Hannah Garland, 71, widow, born New Hampshire; Frank Nickerson, 11, born Maine. Compiler's comment: Frank Nickerson is probably a grandson, but the census does not show that for a fact.

Source: S681 Bartlett Typescript. Received from John Bartlett, 4 January 2001. Titled "Descendants of Adam Barttelot in England and America." Undated; however, it appears to have been completed circa 1920. The line of Zenas Bartlett of Texas is emphasized confirming it is the work of Churchill Jones Bartlett, son of Zenas, who was very active in genealogy.
