NOTES: Her spouse Elias was born in 1832 on the family farm in Pin Oak Township. He was the son of Alvis Hauskins and Sarah Lawrence. Raised on the farm, he attended subscription schools in the winter months. Elias remained on the farm until he was of age, then he visited frequently. He leased the farm until 1870, when he bought the land. He married Mary Cornelia Stevenson, daughter of Augustus Stevenson, on 25 February 1851. Three children, Sally, Charles, and Fanny were born. She pased away on 16 February 1865. On 4 February 1867, he married Sally Barlett, daughter of Jesse Bartlett, one of the oldest settlers of Madison County. They had 4 children: Jesse, Mary, Katie, and Jacob. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He opposed slavery, and espoused the cause of human freedom. In 1856 when John C. Fremont, a Republican supporting anti-slavery, ran for office, he cast his vote for him. From that time on, he was an active and consistent member of the Republican party. He was frequently honored by his fellow citizens with offices of local trust. He was a representative on the Board of Supervisors. He died in 1880..
