Biography

Ruth was born in 1910, one of the five children of James Bartlett and Martha Walker. While her middle name was recorded as Hutchinson on her birth record, other records list it as Hutchison. The family roots originate with the latter spelling. She married George Leland Stevens in Rhode Island in 1932. The couple lived in Quincy, Massachusetts and had five children. Ruth died in 1987 and was buried in the Plain Street Cemetery in Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts.
