Biography

Charles Oliver Bartlett, Jr was born on July 14, 1850, in Strongsville, Ohio. He was the son of Charles Oliver Bartlett and Mary Church. He married Emma Rovena Snow on October 1, 1873, in Brecksville, Ohio. They had four children during their marriage. He died on November 28, 1934, in Brecksville, Ohio, at the age of 84, and was buried there.

Charles Oliver Bartlett Jr., one of the sons of Mary and Charles, went into the business of manufacturing mill machinery with his brother in-law, K.F. Snow. The business grew steadily until it was one of the large concerns of Cleveland, and the name of “The C.O. Bartlett and Snow Co” accompanied machinery to various parts of the world. He was not only interested in the machinery business, but also occupied himself with the cause of prohibition.

He helped establish temperance lodges. He was a wealthy man and owned his own home.
