James married Mary Ellen Boyne in 1886. ^[2] The marriage was registered in the fourth quarter in Leeds. The couple would have six children between 1888 and 1899. The family was enumerated in the 1891 ^[3] and 1901 census ^[4] residing in Leeds. James listed his profession as "Plunber".

James passed away in 1921. ^[5] His death was registered in the fourth quarter in Halifax.
